Nha Trang Overstay Rules Tightened: New Airport Restrictions & Fines
Policy update: Cam Ranh airport enforces stricter overstay rules with inflated local fines; Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi airports offer standard fines for minor overstays.
Since summer 2025, Cam Ranh airport does not allow exit even with 1 day of visa overstay. Overstay consequences: 1) local immigration office fines reach 8M VND through agencies (official rate 0.5–2M VND); 2) risk of 90-day visa ban for 2 years (visa exemption remains available). Safe solutions: exit via Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi—they process overstays up to 15 days with standard fine 1.25M VND. Recommendation: resolve immigration issues locally before booking flights.
