Electronic Registration of Foreign Passengers in Vietnam – Currently Voluntary

Vietnam's PAI electronic registration system for foreign passengers is currently voluntary and in test mode; mandatory compliance may come later at major international airports.

Russia's Embassy in Vietnam clarifies the status of the PAI (Passenger Advance Information) electronic pre-registration system for foreign passengers. The system is currently in test mode and participation is voluntary. Travelers are not required to fill out the online form or obtain a QR code for airport border control. In the future, this data transmission may become mandatory, potentially affecting major international airports including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Cam Ranh, and Phu Quoc.
